Selfie: A New Death Defying Stunt?

Cameras are already easy to find these days. Smartphone and digital cameras are some gadgets used in taking pictures; it may be a group picture or self photography.

Some made picture taking as a time to bond as a group especially in families. Reports said that year 2014 was considered the year of the selfie, and then in 2015 the art of selfie came to a new break because of its new hazardous level.

These days, people who took pictures of themselves, are somewhat literally dying.

In Russia, selfie-related fatalities increased. It included the death of two men who posed for a photo in Ural Mountains while drawing the pin from a hand grenade.

A college graduate died in June after attempting to take a selfie despite the fact that he was hanging from a Moscow bridge.

A 17-year-old boy recently fell to death from a rooftop when he tried to take picture for his Instagram page. Upon checking the boy's instagram, same pictures of him posing on high roofs.

This issue is not just limited in Russia, these issues are also present in every part of the world.

In US, a man died after he was hit with a gunfire himself in the neck while taking a selfie.

Another case occured in August wherein officials of Waterton Canyon in Colorado had closed the park for the reason that several people were caught taking selfies close to the wildlife.

"We've actually seen people using selfie sticks to try and get as close to the bears as possible, sometimes within 10 feet [3 metres]," Brandon Ramson the recreation manager said.

Governments are affected by the statistics connected to the dangerous act of self photography.

Officials of Yellowstone National Park, gave a warning after five split occurrence of selfie-taker being stabbed by bison.

"Be creative with your picture but don't put yourself in danger," advice by Mr. Lee Thompson a professional photographer.
