After having been in the public spotlight for well over two decades since he became a household name playing Uncle Jesse in "Full House," John Stamos' DUI last summer shocked the world as a rare occurrence for the star, who has mostly kept private about his life in the past - and now, he could be facing jail time for his actions.

At 52, Stamos is currently working on two separate shows, his most recent Fox series, "Grandfather," which premiered last month and an upcoming Netflix sequel to his most famous show, "Fuller House," so John Stamos' DUI incident could see him lose quite a bit of money if he were imprisoned.

According to NBC News, now that it's been a couple of months after John Stamos' DUI incident, the actor has been officially charged with driving under the influence, which has a maximum penalty of six months in county jail if he were found guilty.

The Los Angeles District Attorney's Office announced that John Stamos' DUI charge was a misdemeanor, as he was accused of driving under the influence not of alcohol but rather drugs, though it was unspecified which ones he'd taken prior to the offense.

Last June 12, near Canon Drive and Brighton Way in Beverly Hills, people called in the police over seeing Stamos' erratic driving in the area, which in turn caused John Stamos' DUI arrest.

As BBC reports, Stamos is scheduled to appear in court (though it may only be his lawyer present, as is the case with misdemeanor charges) this Friday October 16, when he will go through a hearing on the case.

It's unlikely that the actor would hear a John Stamos DUI sentence before the New Year, so it's unclear whether his work on the two television shows would be disrupted, as the Netflix series should finish production in the next few weeks.
