Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy film may be a year old, but it seems that not all of its secrets have been discovered yet if director James Gunn is to be believed.
Since the film's release on DVD and Blu-Ray, curious fans have poured over the movie, examining every frame for hidden references to past and future films in the Marvel cinematic universe. The studio is of course, no stranger to such tactics, burying key information in their trademark end credits sequences as well as in other scenes throughout their films.
In a recent Q and A session on his Facebook page, Gunn says that fans have still not found 'the big one' as far as Guardians of the Galaxy is concerned.
'They have not all been found. No one has found the big one, really. Maybe once someone came close.' Said Gunn in response to a fan's question regarding the matter.
Many of Guardians Easter Eggs are located in the museum of the Collector, the mysterious space-faring artifact hoarder played by Benicio Del Toro. Guardian's Howard the Duck end credits surprise was hidden in this area of the film but that doesn't mean that it's the only part of the movie where secrets lie.
Last year, Gunn posted this picture on Instagram, which details an obvious infinity gem reference hidden in The Temple of Morag, the ancient ruin that Chris Pratt's Starlord investigates at the start of the film.
No one really knows if Gunn is telling the truth about the current state of the film's Easter eggs but it will no doubt give fans plenty to think about until Guardians 2 hits theatres in 2017.
