Tulip replaced former CEO Steve Murrells with new CEO Chris Thomas. The Danish-owned meat company had put forth a strong effort to find a new leader who fit the UK operations.
Thomas brings a wealth of experience, having worked at Adelie Foods as CEO, as well as holding management positions at Mars, PepsiCo, St. Ives and Bakkavor. His background as both an engineer as well as an MBA create a unique match for the company.
The new CEO was "absolutely delighted" to join the company, praising its "expertise and scale."
Tulip operates 18 sites in the UK, and is the largest producer of pork in that nation. The previous CEO had left to join The Co-operative Group's food business, and Flemming Enevoldsen had stood in as CEO and chairman until Thomas was selected.
