Nowadays, placing orders have become more convenient. Food used to be just a phone call away, but these days, everything can be ordered, from pizza to drinks, through emojis, reported Eater.
Some people find it embarrassing to order really long cocktail names at the bar. Some can't even bring themselves to say some of those names, such as "Father Rusty's Gin Nipple Extravaganza." Because of this, the new Coconut Watering Hole pop-up bar has invented a new, modern way for shy drinkers to order cocktails with really long names.
The Coconut Watering Hole, a pop-up bar opening at Boxpark in Shoreditch, London on August 11, has decided to serve their wide, wild range of "coconut-based mocktails" via Instagram. Coconut Watering Hole customers can choose to order their drinks by using a corresponding sequence of emojis on the social networking site.
In order for the "coconut cocktail team" to recognize coconut drink-loving customers, they simply have to post a photo on Instagram, tag the image with the emojis corresponding the menu, and voila - customers' mocktails will be delivered to them.
For example, if a customer wants a Pink Virgin Mojito, he or she simply has to tag a photo hash-tagged *halo emoji* *palm tree emoji* *water emoji* *watermelon emoji* *martini emoji*. Minutes later, a Pink Virgin Mojito will arrive promptly at the table.
Somehow, this new method of ordering drinks has made it less confusing, complicated and more than anything else, fun for the customers as opposed to simply telling the bartender what it is they want.
That's 2015 for you. Apparently, human interaction has become so last year.
Among the fun mocktails at the "Coconut Watering Hole" is the "Georgia Peach," featuring coconut water and peach juice.
For the one day-only watering hole, entrance is free. The bar will also be featuring a coconut shy, coconut-themed beauty treatment, as well as a steel band, according to The Independent.
