While the Oscar-winning actress and comedienne is famous for her sense of humor, audiences are not too sure of what happened as the latest news from Whoopi Goldberg's "The View" gig is that may have released a flatulence - right on air for everyone to hear.
The whole thing with the news of Whoopi Goldberg's "The View" stint sounds like a joke told by a 7 year-old, but after media frenzy (as different news outlets have called it "fart-gate," it's still unsure whether this really happened or if it was just the actress trying to be funny.
According to The Huffington Post, the controversy first began as Whoopi Goldberg's "The View" job was on, as she guest co-host Ashanti was talking about what she thought of the flu shot. Right in the middle of her speech, the Academy Award-winning actress let something out - but it wasn't precisely a comment.
While she apologized for the whole thing, it seems it's not the first time that Whoopi Goldberg's "The View" moderation becomes the subject of a fart joke - back in 2011, "Homeland" star Claire Danes was visiting the set and Goldberg performed the same stunt as Danes was talking about the American identity after 9/11 - though she later said that the whole thing had been a joke.
In this case, Whoopi Goldberg's "The View" incident was also explained ... once again, as a joke! According to The Daily Mail, the actress has addressed what has been now known as "fart-gate," saying that the whole issue was a case of people taking things too seriously.
"I know you think that I don't [make jokes] any more, I do, I make funnies. I don't fart on-air for real!" the actress stated on the show, where she's a moderator and co-host along with Rosie O'Donnell and Rosie Perez.
In any case, Whoopi hasn't lost her touch with silly comedy!
