Hey pizza lovers! Do you know the latest technology in the food industry today? Pizza Hut is on its way of honing a new eye-tracking menu technology that would let you order foods at Pizza Hut without even uttering a word.
It's true! The Pizza Hut eye-tracking menu technology has been in the works for the last six months and the top pizza company reveals that the technology is so far beating 98 percent accuracy. Pizza Hut has labeled the upcoming technology "the Subconscious Menu."
The Subconscious technology works by spotting the eye movements through the retina, and then formatting the pizza that will be offered to you based on the items that you stared.
The new eye-tracking menu technology uses Tobii's eye-tracking technology to know which of the 20 ingredients you're most likely to order based on the looks you made on the screen.
It seems that Pizza Hut, country's largest pizza chain is focusing on how to create new demands for their pizza products with reported sales drop in the seven consecutive quarters as competitors Domino's and Papa John's made their way ahead.
"We wanted to try a few ideas on the traditional menu format," Kathryn Austin, Pizza Hut Head of Marketing said when asked for the reason why Pizza Hut came up with Subconscious eye-tracking menu technology. "And we're delighted to have developed the world's first Subconscious Menu, a unique way to reinvent the dining experience."
It appears that competition is getting tighter with the Pizza business. For this reason, the companies are becoming more inclined on the advanced side of developing state-of-the-art technology to offer.
Before Pizza Hut had developed their subconscious eye-tracking menu technology, Dominos came up with their real time pizza tracker and pizza tracker app that could offer convenience to customers to track their orders in real time from kitchen to delivery.
Pizza Hut has not yet confirmed the date of launching for the eye-tracking menu technology and which branches it will be first rolled out.
