In the "Brave New World" documentary, Joan Collins candidly admitted that she was raped by her own husband, Maxwell Reed. She said that she was first drugged then raped at age of 17, the time when she was a virgin. However, later on that time she agreed to marry Reed, this was despite the fact the she hated Reed so much.
Joan Collins, 81, is not afraid to open this issue that she is a rape victim in front of the camera. She also wrote in the disturbing experiences in her autobiography everything about her life. She was married to Reed for about four years then died year 1974.
Collins is an actress known to be starred in the film "Dynasty" also admitted that during the time when she was raped, she was the rising star of the generation and in fact just signed her contract with the Rank Film Studios. She's undoubtedly a rising star performer.
Another shocking revelation by her was when they were dating together. Reed used to gave her porn materials so that she read them all over a glass of coke. "The next thing I knew, I was out flat on the sofa in that living room and he was raping me. And what he had given me was a drug. He had drugged my drink. It wasn't my fault but I didn't know. I went out with him."
She explained that during that time she was really naive. When Reed was asking him to have a date with him, she will also agree. Hence, they went to bed again and again. Later on, when she was asked to marry him, she agreed. What else can she do at that time since Reed already took away her virginity but to agree to him? At least her reputation was saved.
