Is it possible that eating what people usually serve to their babies, in larger portions, could actually lead to losing weight? The Baby diet proves that it is indeed possible as three meals per day plus one snack is deemed to be very effective to those who want to shed off the extra pounds.
New York-based nutritionist Nicolette Pace said that babies have a natural rhythm regarding eating but adults lose it during some point as they grow old. She said, "We need to look to our babies for the answers."
Pace pointed out that people was used to a 9-to-5 workday schedule however it has changed now making it more of a 9 to 5 setting. She noted that people prioritize everything above eating but when it comes to babies, if they are hungry, parents move hell and high water just to make sure that they are being fed properly.
Pace adds that adults do not do that for themselves pointing out that there are other baby behaviors that adults could benefit from. She cites the action of babies when they push away food when they are no longer hungry and they don't skip meals ever.
She also asked the question "Would you allow your baby to snack on chips all day long?" Most would answer no thus raising the question why do adults allow themselves to snack on such unhealthy food.
Aside from that, Pace also shared a couple of tips regarding the baby diet. She said that people should know how to control portions and know what their stomachs can handle. She states, "A newborn's stomach is about the size of a cherry. It grows as they grow and by adulthood our stomachs are about the size of a softball."
Another is taking time when eating. Babies do not rush through their meals instead, they slow down and enjoy. She noted that meals usually last for at least 15 minutes.
She also says that adults should eat in intervals as food is going to stay in one's stomach for two to four hours.
