Kate Middleton Update: Pens A Personal Letter To A Mother Who Wrote To Her

A grieving mother has wrote a letter to Kate Middleton and the Duchess of Cambridge personally penned a letter to the mother who wrote her about the death of her baby girl.

Kate reportedly met the woman at the fundraising campaign she has attended in order to help families at the East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH). The woman was identified as 33-year-old physiotherapist from Norwich named Leigh Smith. Smith's daughter has died due to a rare heart condition just after 89 days of living on Earth.

Smith talked about upon getting a personal letter from Kate, "I was so surprised to receive a letter with such personal comments and signed by her. It was a lovely gesture and helped me through a terrible time. I was touched that she had taken so much time to carefully read my letter and then to reply herself - it shows how much she cares."

She also talked about meeting Kate again and that she shared how Kate remembered the letter and that it was an honor to meet her.

Beatrice, the daughter of Smith, is supposed to turn one in just a few days and she noted that she hopes her daughter was looking down on her when she met Kate as it was an amazing way to celebrate her birthday. Kate reportedly looked for Smith minutes before she left and gave her another hug. The duchess also told Smith: "You're a very brave lady and I'm just so sorry."

The duchess has worn a red dress camouflaging her growing baby bump for the event. She has met a lot of families, talked to volunteers and joined 700 guests for the launch of the charitable event.

She also visited the Hospis Malaysia which is in close ties with EACH during her said appointment.
