Gwyneth Paltrow has finally answered back the controversial diss of Martha Stewart against her weeks ago and it is also in a way the lifestyle mogul did the shaming.
Let's first backtrack about how the feud ended up being countered by Paltrow. For the November issue of "Martha Stewart Living", the 73-year-old has entitled a page of her mag with the words "Conscious Coupling" and it was clearly a shot at Paltrow.
The phrase was famously stated by Paltrow herself when she and ex-husband Coldplay frontman Chris Martin announced their "conscious uncoupling" back in March this year. The spread was basically abot exceptional food pairings as the lifestyle giant talked about Thanksgiving pies and even said "perfect marriage of crust and filling."
Fast forwarding to the statement of Paltrow now, which took nearly a month before she responded, was about a tasty recipe uploaded on her website entitled "Jailbird Cake". Does it ring a bell? Well, to those who do not know of Stewart's time in jail, Paltrow is definitely referencing that incident to subtly diss Stewart and give her a dose of her own medicine.
The dish is said to be a garnish topped with lots of chocolate shavings. The cake's name is said to be in reference to the time that Stewart spent behind bars back in 2004 when she was busted for insider trading.
An insider close to Paltrow actually talked about the said title of the recipe. The insider pressed, "The folks at Goop know how to have some fun, too. If Martha served up the appetizer, the Jailbird Cake is just desserts."
Stewart has also commented about her competition Paltrow and even Blake Lively who has also started her lifestyle website just recently. She said in her magazine interview a few months back that the two should just stick with acting. She pointed out that if Paltrow was really that great of an actress, she won't be trying to be Martha Stewart.
Stewart is yet to comment or maybe think of another recipe to diss Paltrow slightly on the December issue of her lifestyle magazine.
