Celebrity Diet: Ketogenic, Paleo and Atkins diets Prevent Cancer And boost Weight Loss

The high-fat and low-carb diet known as Ketogenic, Atkins and Paleo diets are being promoted by celebrities as a follower of the fad can actually lose weight without having to be hungry by suppressing one's appetite.

This is not solely based on testimonies by celebrities who have tried it as scientists also studied about the said diet and they have noted that it is effective as it reduces calories and the fat from the food keeps users feel full.

Dietitian Alice Gibson from the University of Sydney Medical School said, "All of our studies basically showed either a very small reduction in appetite or no change. People can be consuming very few calories but not have an increase in their appetite."

Basically, dieters need enough fat to keep them going and not feel hungry all the time thus reducing having the urge to eat more food whenever one feels the need to.

These diets do not restrict the users by forcing their body to burn fat but fuels the metabolic state, which results to them feeling less hungry.

Dr. Eric Westman from the Duke University Lifestyle Medicine Clinic said that his mantra was to eat fat to get thin.

There are many high-profile celebrities who have tried the Ketogenic, Atkins and Paleo diets and one of them is Kim Kardashian. The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" reality star reportedly lost 56 pounds in just six months using the said diet. Tim McGraw also tried it out and has lost 40 pounds even if he is already 47 years old.

Other effects of the said diet lead to reversing type 2 diabetes and preventing Alzheimer's. It also prevents cancer as it starves cancer cells in the human body. Cancer cells basically thrive on sugar and could never survive on ketones.

Drastically limiting the carbohydrates that enter one's body and metabolic state will reduce the glucose and insulin intake further restricting the entrance of fuels for cancer cell's growth.
