5 Texas Family Members Die On Their Way To Disney World

Texas Family Disney World - Eight people traveled in an SUV that rolled over. Two adults and three children, who weren't using seatbelts, died.

The family was traveling in a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe and 16-year-old Andrew Hardman was driving. They were passing through the Interstate 20 on Wed. close to 11 p.m. when the accident happened.

According to authorities, they believe that Andrew fell asleep at the wheel. The vehicle then went into the median and the boy tried to turn back onto the highway, which might be when the SUV rolled over, NBC News noted.

The driver was wearing a seatbelt and ended with minor injuries. So were two more in the SUV. The five members of the family who died weren't using one.

"In an instant this family vacation turned into an unspeakable tragedy. I cannot stress enough the importance of wearing a seatbelt anytime you are in a vehicle," said Colonel Mike Edmonson, the Louisiana State Police Superintendent and WFAA reported.

The family members who weren't using the seatbelt were ejected from the vehicle as soon as it rolled over, while they were on their way to Disney World.

The authorities identified the family members killed as: Michael and Trudi Hardman, from Terrell, Texas. The three children were: Kaci Hardman, 4, Adam Hardman, 7, and Dakota Wilson, 15.

Although troopers don't believe that Andrew was impaired, they still conducted a toxicology sample, according to CBS.

Michael and Trudi Hardman were parents of six children and both teachers. Michael worked as a second-grade teacher at John F. Kennedy Elementary School and Trudi as a kindergarten teacher at Willis Point Primary School.

The family was going to Disney Land with two children who were kids of Darrel Watson, Dallas County Sheriff's; they were Dakota and Hunter Watson.

The crash where the five members of the family died on their way to Disney World still remains under investigation.
