U2’s Frontman Bono Involved in an Accident

Bad News for all U2 fans, the band's frontman Bono had a cycling accident at Central Park and suffered serious injuries.

According to Rolling Stone, U2 frontman Bono had a facial fracture on the orbit of his eyes, fracture of his left humerus bone in his upper arm and three separate fractures on his left shoulder blade. The hospital called the accident as a high energy bicycle accident. The accident happened when Bono tried to avoid another bicycle driver. He was immediately rushed to the hospital and underwent 5 hours of surgery.

According to the hospital's orthopedic trauma surgeon Dean Lorich, MD, he had an immediate surgery and his elbow was washed out, the nerve trapped in the break as moved and the broken bones was repaired with three metals and 18 screws and he also underwent a surgery to fix his broken left pinky finger.

Bono supposed to guest on "The Tonight Show" but was not able to make it because of his accident but Jimmy Fallon had to postpone it. The band's tour may also be affected by the accident but there is still no further announcement about the delays.

Paul David Hewson or most commonly known as Bono was an Irish singer-songwriter, businessman, philanthropist and venture capitalist. He is more recognizable as the Dublin-based rock band U2's frontman. He was married to Alison Hewson and was blessed with four children. Sunglasses became his trademark because he was never seen without one because of glaucoma.

The Dublin-based rock band U2 already has 13 studio albums, 9 compilation albums, 9 live albums, 57 singles and 8 No. 1 singles on the U.S. Modern Rock charts. The band received numerous awards from different award giving body including Rock and Roll Hall of Fame during 2005. The band had sold more than 150 million records and often had the number 1 position in every countdown.
