Marley Natural: Bob Marley Own Cannabis Brand

For Bob Marley's fans he was considered more than a selling recording star. For his fans, he was a prophet and a hero, a singer visionary of peace, love and justice. We can see Marley's face in different merchandise such as posters and shirt after his death in 1981 but today Marley's iconic image will be seen on his first global brand of marijuana.

Last Tuesday on NBC's Today's exclusive segment, the Seattle-based private equity company and Marley family had announced that they are already working of the creation of Marley Natural. It is a premium cannabis brand.

Marley Natural will include accessories like vaporizers that looks like e-cigarettes, pot-infused creams and strains of heirloom Jamaican cannabis, the cannabis was inspired by the herb being enjoyed by Marley.

Having a marijuana corporate brand is considered a major milestone for the ragamuffin word of legal cannabis which most product names has a juvenile name such as Alaskan Thunderf-k and the sales only depends on graffiti makers and bikini girls.

The upcoming cannabis brand, Marley Natural will have a clean packaged to give a modern look for the consumer. The same company that branded Starbucks Coffee and New Balance will be the one responsible for Marley Natural.  According to the company's executive, Marley Natural cannabis will be sold as loose packed buds, concentrate or oils.

For Privateer Holdings' CEO, Brendan Kennedy, the Marley Natural is what the end of prohibition looks like. This is their way to help Marley finish what he started 50 years ago and that is to push for the legalization.

Marley family already has license brands of audio equipment, coffee and a grab-bag of lifestyle goods. "Smoke like a Marley" is written on their other products which also show their approval of Bob Marley's pharmacological quest.

According to Marley's 47 years old first-born daughter, Cedella Marley, her dad should be part of the conversation regarding the new cannabis brand and she also quoted her dad "Make way for the positive day."

Rita Marley also added that her husband Bob Marley will be happy for the new brand because this is what he dreamed of and that is for marijuana to be legally regulated.

According to 1969 Shifting U.S. Public Opinion about the survey on legalization of marijuana, 12% of Americans said Yes while 84% of Americans said no compare to 2014 survey which 51% of American said yes while 47% said no.
