Chris Martin's "A Sky Full of Stars" Inspired by Katy Perry

Chris Martin of Coldplay has recently talked about their song "A Sky Full of Stars" and he has opened up about what or who really inspired the song. The frontman has been interviewed by Beat x Beat produced by Beats by Dre and he claims that the song was inspired by another artist and it's Katy Perry.

Martin talked about how he came up with the lyrics of the hit song and the singer pressed that the idea came from Perry as he always listened to her. He revealed, "I'll tell you the truth: I was listening to a lot of Katy Perry."

One of the pop queens is said to be thanked in the chart-topping track of Coldplay. Martin adds that a lot of Perry's songs had the same chord sequence and he noted that due to this, the listeners' bodies feel comfortable with the beat. He added that the melody changing on top makes Perry's songs groovy.

Martin noted that people who listen to Perry's songs get into it and are kept interested. He added, "I was like, 'that's an amazing way of doing songs.'"

Aside from that, the star also noted that the electronic dance music did influence the song as it helped in completing the track. He said that the electronic dance music as people have a lot of great time when they listen to such. He added, "So I was like f--k it! I love that stuff. So I wanted to have a song that comes from that world. But in terms of, 'I'd really like to jump up and down to this,' we don't really know what we're doing."

Artist Avicii also helped in the finalization of the song and there were actually two versions of the song, the Avicii version and the Coldplay version. Martin revealed that they had to mash the two versions to come up with the final output.
