Veterans Day Celebration was disrupted for a time when Manhattan jewelry robbery took place. On Tuesday afternoon, two men attacked and stole jewelries from a jewelry shop in Diamond district of Manhattan that left one injured and raised a massive manhunt for the suspects.
According to Wall Street journal, two black men were the main suspects for the Manhattan jewelry robbery. The amount of the stolen jewelry taken from a luxury store Watch Standard Inc. on the eighth floor of 23 W. 47th St was not yet determined.
About 2:30 p.m. on Veterans Day parade, two men had caused a massive police search in the area of Fifth and Sixth Avenues as they raided a jewelry store and took a bag of jewelry from the shop. The suspects were not arrested as they escaped the scene after the heist incident.
Two blacks were the suspects for the Manhattan jewelry robbery. One man acted as a lookout and the other as the gunman are believed to be dangerous. The gunman is around 40 to 50 years old, 6-foot-4, and was wearing black hat, sunglasses, and a goatee.
The other suspect in the Manhattan heist who stood as a lookout is about 30 to 40 years of age, wearing a black hoodie, black True Religion jeans, red baseball cap, and black sneakers, as described by Chief William Aubry, the head of the NYPD detective's squad in Manhattan.
The Manhattan jewelry robbery had caused closure of the West 47th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues as the commemoration of the Veterans Day is taking place. The massive manhunt triggered chaos in the streets with the presence of spectators joining the parade.
The owner of the shop was reportedly injured in the Manhattan jewelry theft incident and was taken to the hospital for treatment while other staff of the shop remained unharmed.
One witness claimed that the Manhattan jewelry robbery is an unusual happening in the area. The witness added, in his eight years in the district, there is only one robbery incident that took place in the Diamond District in Manhattan.
