Boy Creates "Before I Go Blind" Bucket List

Ben Pierce is a nine-year-old boy who is about to lose his eyesight but before he goes blind, he created a list of the places he wants to see and called it his "Before I Go Blind" bucket list.

Pierce is said to be born four months premature and he has had an eye disease ever since he was a baby called Retinopathy of Prematurity. This means that he will eventually go blind as his eyesight continues to deteriorate.

According to the parents of Pierce, he has already lost his peripheral vision last year and that's when they thought of having him make a bucket list of places he wants to see.

He has listed the following: go snorkeling, attend a concert by Weird Al Yankovic, go to Las Vegas, explore the Redwood Forests, see Arizona, see Alaska and many more.

Pierce has already gone to see Mardi Gras, London, Paris, Legoland, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. He also has visited the Apple Store, head on over to a mall, and went to a candy factory.

According to the family of Pierce, they could not afford it at all but people started donating when they heard about his condition. People also donate airline miles and hotel booking.

Pierce's mother, Heidi, shared that the boy is fully aware of his condition as his son always says, "My eyes are changing. I see more spots. Everything is fuzzy." She added that they are so thankful for having people help him have visual memories he would always remember.

Heidi added that they love seeing the enthusiasm of their son and that from a very young age, his son already was fascinated with maps and geography. She added that her son loved to read a lot despite his condition. She pressed, "Combining those two passions means he's fascinated by the world and eager to see all the places he's been reading about."
