The latest news from the drummer of AC/DC are more than incredible: it wasn't only that he was arrested, but Phil Rudd's murder charges are actually what he'll be on trial for!
Phil Rudd's murder charges have definitely come as a surprise to the world. This Thursday morning, the police raided his New Zealand home in Tauranga, and according to reports by the BBC it seems that the charges against him are due to his involvement in plotting the death of two men.
While the Phil Rudd murder charges are yet to be met with a plea, the news has still made it throughout the world, although details of the case are still scarce. Besides the conspiracy charges, Rudd is also facing possession of marijuana, methamphetamine and threatening to kill, according to Rolling Stone Magazine.
It seems that Phil Rudd's murder-related actions go back a few months. According to local news outlet The Sun, the New Zealand police has accused the longtime drummer of procuring murder to two men, between September 25 and September 26 this year.
The press still hasn't been let know about who were the men that Rudd allegedly conspired to kill.
While waiting for trial, the Australian-born 60 year-old drummer has been released on bail at the request of his defense lawyer. By the last days of November (on the 27th), the musician will have to appear in a Registrar's List.
The conditions for the bail as it is at the moment is that Rudd will have to continue to reside at his home in Bureta, and that he is banned to contact any of the complainants regarding Phil Rudd's murder charges, as it would be a disruption of the law to do so. Also, Rudd cannot enter either Maleme Street or Riverton Road.
Rudd's representative is a Paul Mabey, QC, but his acting lawyer at the time of the hearing was Tony Rickard-Simms.
