"One Starry Christmas" kick offs Hallmark Channel's "Countdown To Christmas" this 2014 to air tonight.
"One Starry Christmas" is Hallmark's first original movie for this Christmas season starring Sarah Carter ("Falling Skies").
Sarah Carter stars as Holly, a young aspiring astronomy professor unexpectedly finds herself with a cowboy and his brother in an unlikely ride share at a bus going home for the holidays. Her unexpected travel companion is played by Damon Runyan from "The Husband She Met Online".
Holly was disappointed when her longtime boyfriend, Adam (Paul Popowich) changed their settled plans for the holidays to go on a business trip and leaves her by herself for the holidays. She then decided to take a bus and see Adam and her family in a surprise Christmas visit. However, a twist of fate happens as her jerky ride turns into a destination for a new love.
Holly and her bus companion Luke (Runyan) met while traveling in the bus and an instant connection between the two transpired over the love of constellations and Christmas. She invites Luke and his brother Bull (George Canyon) to come with her as she surprises Adam and her family for Christmas. The situation became a competition scene between Luke and Adam to get Holly's attention.
A distinct affection builds between Holly and Luke that takes Holly to make a decision whether to play it safe with Adam or get to the spur of Christmas with Luke.
"Countdown to Christmas" is the network's holiday tradition of giving twelve original Christmas movies made for TV.
"One Starry Christmas" will be followed by the next movie treat, "The Nine Lives of Christmas" starring Brandon Routh to be aired on November 8.
