Helen Mirren's new movies this year and the next are sure to add to her list of excellent films.
Helen Mirren stars in her newest movie released August 8 this year as Madame Mallory in DreamWorks' culinary-comedy drama, "The Hundred-Foot Journey".
Produced by Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey, the movie is "the story about compatibility amongst people that you would never imagine could even be compatible whether it's love or food."
Helen Mirren is first pick for the leading role of Madame Mallory, a French chef and restaurant owner whose "cultural snobbery" is tested when the Kadams, an Indian family, arrives in France and builds an Indian restaurant right across her establishment. The plot takes an exciting, witty and profound rivalry and compatibility issues on food and love.
The movie also stars Om Puri, Manish Dayal and Charlotte Le Bon. It opened in U.S theaters on Aug. 8 earning $10,979,290 on its opening weekend.
"The Hundred-Foot Journey" is directed by renowned Lasse Hallstrom who also directed "Chocolat" (2000), "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" (1993) and "Dear John" (2010).
Helen Mirren is unstoppable doing films that show her acting prowess and versatility. Mirren's new movie to be released in 2015 is "Woman in Gold", a true story to be directed by Simon Curtis. Mirren will play the lead role in this movie as heroine Maria Altmann, a Jewish WWII survivor who fought the Austrian government in a legal battle to get back several paintings by Klimt that were stolen from her family during the war.
"Woman in Gold" features a star-studded cast with Ryan Reynolds as the lawyer to get the case even without knowing anything about painting and Daniel Bruhl as his adversary. It will also star Katie Holmes.
Mirren's new movie has started filming in May this year and will be released in theaters in 2015.
