Meg Ryan and John Mellencamp have revived their romance after a brief break up in late August.
A source close to Mellencamp told People that "They are back together and it's brand new".
In August, reports showed that actress Ryan, 52 and rock star Mellencamp, 63, have ended their relationship after three years of dating. The couple's relationship started out subtly and the pair has kept it quiet and private. The two began going out in 2010, after Mellencamp's separation from Elaine Irwin Mellencamp, his wife of 18 years.
Ryan has been married once to actor, Dennis Quaid. After ten years of marriage, the two got divorced with a son, Jack Henry. She also has a daughter, Daisy True, whom she adopted from China.
Before the news that the were together again came out, the celebrity couple was spotted looking comfortable and relaxed with each other as they strolled through Manhattan, New York City on Oct.15.
After the two separated ways, Mellencamp has been vocal about his hopes that they could be back together. In an interview at "Today" show on Sept. 25, he told that "She's an angel sent to me, and I'm very happy." He added, "And you know, nothing's over 'til it's over."
According to sources, those declarations were "definitely meant for Meg to hear." "He's letting Meg know he loves her and very much wants her back in his life."
Mellencamp even included a photograph taken by Ryan on the crooner's new album. "Plain Spoken".
Another inside close to Mellencamp has revealed that the couple had difficulties dealing with the distance with Ryan in her New York City where her son attends college and Mellencamp in Bloomington, Indiana.
The Mellencamp insider adds, "They are a great couple. All their friends were hoping it would work out."
