Great news for all "Glee" fans: Matthew Morrison's wife is now officially his girlfriend Renee Puente! The couple tied the knot in an adorable ceremony in the island of Maui, Hawaii, where Matthew Morrison and wife celebrated their love in a small ceremony of 50 people, with all the singing and dancing expected from Mr. Schue's wedding!
Matthew Morrison's wife Renee has been with him since 2011, when they first started dating; later on, they became engaged in the summer of 2013, and had been planning the perfect wedding ever since!
Morrison popped the question to his girlfriend in June 2013, giving her a beautiful blue sapphire ring after they'd been dating for two years. However, it wasn't Morrison who announced the engagement back then, but rather his good friend and legendary British musician Elton John ... unintentionally!
According to the Daily Mail, John and civil partner David Furnish let the news slip at their annual White Tie and Tiara Ball in London last year, but then Elton made up to the couple serenading them in a duet of his classic "Your Song," along with Coldplay front man Chris Martin.
Renee Puente became Matthew Morrison's wife last Saturday in a beautiful ceremony in a private property in Maui, Hawaii, in front of 50 of the couple's closest family and friends, according to People Magazine.
The "Glee" and Broadway actor wore a custom Brooks Brothers tux, and his beautiful bride walked down the aisle in a Gustavo Cadile dress, stepping in with shoes designed by Emmy London especially for her.
It should come as no shock that the day that Renee Puente became Matthew Morrison's wife, singing sparked all over the ceremony: pianist Chad Whidden played for the new bride and groom and their guests, and Kiley Dean sang "Feels Like Home" as Puente walked down the aisle to meet her soon-to-be husband. Also, the newlyweds sang Laura Benanti's "Starry Eyed/Video Games" as a duet, and Renee even danced the Hula for her new hubby!
It still is unclear whether there were any "Glee" cast members at the ceremony. Let's hope there were and pictures of the event surface soon enough!
