Canned jalapeños are a delicious topping for nachos and fabulous when folded into burritos. But if you purchased the M-C McLane International brand, you need to do a pantry check. The company has issued a nationwide recall of its canned jalapenos because they might contain glass shards. This obviously poses a serious health risk for consumers. Recalled Jalapeño Product Details

This reporter actually called the FDA, as she could not find any information on the canned jalapeño recall on their site. The FDA confirnmed the recall was initiated in February and is still ongoing. It affects specific jalapeno products produced by M-C McLane International brand, based in Houston, Texas.

  • Size: Packed in 6lb 10oz cans (6 cans per case)
  • Quantity: 2991 cases
  • Identification: Manufactured on June 8th, 2023, with Item #7245444 and Lots: 1305/1377
  • Distribution: The recalled jalapenos were distributed across a wide range of states, including Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin. 

What To Do If You Have Recalled Jalapeños

If you do a pantry check and find the specific M-C McClane brand jalapeños detrailed abovre, do not consume them. Discard the recalled jalapenos immediately or return the product to your place of purchase for a full refund.
