Rumor has it that Skittles may be entering the beverage game! Let's jump into the Mystery Machine and see if we can Scooby Doo this Skittles soft-drink situation.
Skittles Soft Drinks?
The Street reported that Skittle's parent company, MARS, may be launching a rainbow-flavored drink fueled by the fruit-flavored chew, but the details are hazy. We're hoping this is true since, I mean, who doesn't want to guzzle the rainbow? To add to the mystery, @Snackolator on Instagram claims these drinks come in four flavors: Original, Wild Berry, Tropical, and Sour. The social media announcement comes beside an image that looks mad photoshopped and we are wondering if this will be the new Hi-C competitor or is if this a pre-April fool's prank.
Skittles Shots
Skittles drinks aren't "new." Folks have been dissolving the beloved chews into all kinds of other beverages for years. The one we loved the best was the bartenders who separated Skittles by color and dissolved the candy into what has become known as the "Skittles Shot." It's Skittles-infused vodka, and ice strained into a shot glass. Trust us, it's freaking delish!
Skittles Drink Mix
This isn't Mars' first foray into Skittles-flavored drinks. They already sell single-serving drink mix powders that you add to water. But bottled Skittles drinks are a whole new ball game. If the rumors are true, it will be interesting to see how these drinks fare against the bigwigs of the beverage industry. One advantage MARS has is name recognition. People know and love Skittles, so they might be more likely to give these drinks a sip. Stay tuned here on Food World News to see how this rumor unravels.
