If you grabbed some Polynesian dipping sauce at Chick-fil-A between February 14th and 27th, you want to double-check your sauce stash.
Chick-fil-A Dipping Sauce Recall
Fox Business just reported that fast food chain Chick-fil-A issued a recall on their popular Polynesian sauce cups due to a packaging mix-up. The affected dips might contain wheat and soy allergens. These ingredients are not listed on the sauce's specs and could be dangerous for people with sensitivity to either. While there haven't been any illnesses yet, Chick-fil-A played it safe and urged everyone to throw away any Polynesian sauces they may have taken home during those dates. Folks who suffer reactions like anaphylaxis are especially at risk and need to take extra care
Check Your Stash
If you're like us, when you like a sauce, you ask for more and then toss the extra in your fridge until you crave it again. Usually, it ends up getting trashed at the end of the week. On the off chance your last Chick-fil-A sauce stash is still lurking behind that jar of mustard, you should give it a look. This goes double if you have family members with wheat or soy allergies.
Who's At Risk?
Folks who are known to suffer from anaphylaxis need to be extra careful. Allergic reactions like anaphylaxis from wheat or soy products are not to be trifled with. They are potentially deadly. Symptoms include hives, swelling, throat constriction, loss of voice, vomiting, and more. If you are prone to anaphylaxis and are experiencing any of these symptoms, call 911 pronto.
If you have any questions about the recall, call Chick-fil-A CARES at 1-866-232-2040. If you experience any severe allergic reactions like hives, throat swelling, trouble breathing, or nausea, please seek immediate medical assistance. Stay safe, sauce lovers!
