Bob Moore, the lovable founder of Bob's Red Mill, passed away at his home on February 10, 2024, at the age of 94. Moore was known for his dedication to promoting healthy whole grain foods and his commitment to fair labor with the establishment of a groundbreaking employee stock ownership program at his company.

Homegrown Roots

Bob's Red Mill, founded in 1978, evolved from a local producer serving Oregon's Portland area into a global brand offering over 200 products in more than 70 countries. Moore's legacy is preserved in the company's commitment to unprocessed, high-quality food and in his contributions to Oregon universities for nutritional health education and research.

Bob's Red Mill, a 100% employee-owned company, continues to uphold Moore's values and legacy. Moore's vision of a business that benefits its employees and customers alike has left an indelible mark on the industry and serves as an inspiring model for ethical business practices in sustainable food production.

Moore is survived by his three sons, nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. A celebration of his life and contributions is currently being planned. In the meantime, the community is invited to share memories at the Bob's Red Mill Whole Grain Store in Milwaukie, Oregon.
