A new Coca Cola in green label is the newest addition to the Coca Cola family. 'Coca Cola Life' is a low calorie cola sweetened through the use natural sources- Stevia leaf extract and sugar cane.
Coke green has been successfully released around Mexico, Great Britain, Argentina and Chile. Initial rollout of the new green label in 8-oz glass bottles began Aug. 25 in the United States.
Coke has targeted fresh market locations including Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and South and Central Florida for the Coca Cola green kick off. Coke life is expected to be in all retail locations, stores and supermarkets in the U.S by November and in the UK markets during fall.
"We ultimately want to be leaders in this emerging segment, and Coca-Cola Life is our first effort to make this a reality," stated Andy McMillin, Vice President, Coca-Cola North America. "For consumers looking for a reduced-calorie soft drink sweetened with cane sugar and stevia leaf extract, this is a great-tasting option."
Stevia is a leaf in Paraguay, South America that offers intense natural sweetness, 200 times sweeter than the table sugar and calorie-free.
Coca Cola Life has green packaging following the company's efforts 'to inspire happier, healthier lives.' Part of this advocacy is to offer a new coke with less sugar and fewer calories to fight obesity.
"We're excited to debut Coca Cola Life in our flagship US market as we continue to innovate and expand our portfolio to meet consumer's evolving needs and preferences," Mc Millin added.
Coca Cola Life with 35 percent fewer calorie than any other colas is the next product offered after Coca Cola Zero was introduced in the market in 2006.
