Although it is not yet available in the U.S., we are still rejoicing. Related reports from Taste Of Home says that the announcement came in last December 8th, and the product appears to be a bowl of melted cheddar sauce that's about 3.5 ounces. Additionally, McDonald's Brazil also made the initial post using Instagram to entice fans.

Soon after, customers started flocking to McDonald's stores to try it out and have been documenting their experience using social media.

One Instagram user shared a video of her dunking a juicy cheeseburger into the gooey cheese sauce. Another person who tried the melted cheddar said that it was creamy and yummy.

According to some fans, the melted cheddar cheese tub could possibly be a spinoff of one of McDonald's sandwiches that were already offered in Brazil, the Cheddar McMelt. In addition, it reminds fans a little of a burger-centric take on Arby's Beef and Cheddar.

Sadly, there have not been any updates of a rollout for this product stateside, and even the time this item will be available in Brazil is unclear.

Melted Cheddar Dip

This new McDonald's product may not be available in the U.S., but there is no need to make a fuss about it. Fortunately, you can make your own melted cheddar dip.

However, the problem with trying to replicate this recipe is the possibility that you might have ended up with a pot full of sauce that's neither creamy nor dreamy. Some people end up with a lumpy, clumpy, grainy, or greasy cheddar sauce instead.

One hack to remember when making your own melted cheddar dip is using sodium citrate to achieve that perfectly smooth and creamy sauce.

Sodium citrate is said to be the secret ingredient to keep melted cheeses from breaking. According to HuffPost, it works as a form of salt that works as an emulsifier.

It is an agent that reduces the acidity of cheese and makes the proteins in the cheese more soluble, which prevents it from separating and turning into a greasy mess.

As a result, it creates a smooth, creamy texture that will not break apart. The following ingredients are what you need for your melted cheddar dip.

  • 8 ounces grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon of sodium citrate
  • Water to cover the bottom of a small saucepan (approximately 1/2 cup)

Process of cooking

1. Add 1/2 teaspoon of sodium citrate to the bottom of a saucepan. Pour in water enough to cover the bottom of the saucepan.

2. Heat the mixture over medium temperature and let it simmer.

3. Add in your grated cheddar cheese until it is fully melted.

4. Enjoy your creamy and delicious melted cheddar cheese dip.
