Cardi B’s 'WAP' Becomes a Thanksgiving Food Meme Feast on TikTok

After becoming a viral TikTok dance, Cardi B's WAP song has now officially become a Thanksgiving meme.

According to Insider, it was back in August when Cardi B's WAP was released, and soon after, it created a massive buzz over the internet. Billboard reports that it drew 93 million U.S. streams in a week and blasts onto the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart at No. 1 during the first week since its launch.

Following that success, it conquered the TikTok universe with its viral dance challenge created by Brian Esperon, a choreographer from Guam.

Additionally, the song became the talk of the town because of its explicit lyrics, to which Cardi B defended that it pertains to women celebrating themselves, bragging about themselves, and loving themselves.

While others may be interpreting the song as too vulgar, some people find themselves entertained with the amount of Thanksgiving memes that pooped all over TikTok. One particular TikTok video was from @bkrone, showing off a Thanksgiving feast with dishes named after WAP lyrics.

This TikTok user ingeniously incorporated the lyrics of WAP into a family Thanksgiving menu. Turkey was renamed as "gobble me swallow me," while the gravy was labeled "drip down the side of me."

The mashed potatoes were also labeled, "make it cream, make me scream," and the corn was named "extra hard and extra-large." As for the dessert, the pumpkin pie was labeled "I let him taste it, now he diabetic."

Apparently, the TikTok video was shared on Twitter where Cardi B stumbled upon it and retweeted it, expressing that she finds it hilarious.

That created another explosion of tweets about the video and the WAP song. One Twitter user stated that WAP is definitely a Thanksgiving song, and no one can argue with that.

Other WAP Parodies

Aside from going viral on TikTok and Twitter because of the Thanksgiving memes, one YouTuber also used WAP to make a parody about foods like wings, pizza, and bread.

A YouTuber with over 154,000 subscribers, Lardi B, makes food taste test videos, daily vlogs, and TikTok compilations. This YouTuber is famous for creating videos and changing the lyrics of popular songs by artists like Cardi B and Nicki Minaj.

When WAP was released on August 7, Lardi B quickly posted her parody on her YouTube channel a week after. Her version uses WAP as an acronym for "Wings And Pizza."

On her parody video, it showed herself with friends feasting on different foods. She also changed the WAP lyrics and was heard singing, "Yeah, we feastin' on some wings and pizza" instead.

The three-minute video mentions parmesan, red pepper flakes, pepperoni, bread buns, ice cream, reaper sauce, and more.

Upon the launch of this video, it already garnered over 1.1 million views and counting. But the trend does not end there as one Starbucks store in Philadelphia also used WAP as inspiration for their latest drink.

A sign posted outside the store says, "Come try our WAP," which stands for white mocha, almond milk, and pumpkin spice.
