Reese Witherspoon Arrest: “It's Part of Human Nature. I Made Mistake”- Reese Witherspoon

America's Sweetheart Reese Witherspoon shocked the world when she opened up about her drunken run-in with the law during a press conference for her new movie' Wild' at the BFI London Film Festival Monday, Oct. 13.

The Oscar-winning actress was involved when her husband, Jim Toth, was detained for DUI in April. After she refused to get in the car repeatedly, the police officers issued her a disorderly conduct charge, where she pleads no contest and has earned her to pay a fine of $213.

Although Witherspoon had already apologized long time back for the case, she bravely shared at the BFI London Film Festival press conference her arrest experience in Atlanta, where she was filming 'The Good Lie' at the time.

"I think it was a moment where people realized that I wasn't exactly what they thought I was," the sweet 38-year old actress stated to reporters. "I guess maybe we all like to define people by the way the media presents them, and I think that I showed I have a complexity that people didn't know about. It's part of human nature. I made a mistake. We all make mistakes. The best you can do is say sorry and learn from it and move on."

The beautiful blonde confessed she felt 'embarrassed' for her actions following the incident last year. She admitted that she was 'disrespectful' to the arresting police officer, but she also thinks that she only did it because she was 'frightened.'

As VOGUE asked the 'Walk the Line' star why her role in her latest movie 'Wild' is something appealing for her, she replied, "Nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors, but I think there's a general sense now that I've lived a pretty textured life."

Witherspoon married Toth in March 2011 after a year of relationship and has two-year-old son Tennessee with him. She also has children with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, Ava, 15, and Deacon, 10.
