Enterovirus Michigan – A Baby Girl Died From The Disease

Enterovirus Michigan: Enterovirus is worrying parents in a different area now. The disease that has rather common symptoms has been the cause of death for a 21-month-old girl from Michigan.

There is a detail that is especially worrying about this disease. It doesn't show symptoms that are incredibly dangerous from the beginning. Instead, the symptoms that are shown are: sneezing, coughing, and breathing issues. All which could be part of flu.

Hence, it's difficult to see the problem. It already happened in New Jersey that a 4 year-old boy went to bed and didn't wake up, in late Sept.

This baby girl is a case which ended tragically, but the disease is taking over a lot of people and especially children.

It has already been confirmed that there are at least 691 Enterovirus cases across the country this year, affecting 46 states, according to Washington Post.

The case of this toddler, though, is the first case of death by Enterovirus in Michigan. Maddie's condition was described by her parents.

"There was a failure in all of Maddie's organs, along with congestive heart failure and myocarditis."

Apparently, in the beginning, the Enterovirus shows itself as a regular flu and then, rapidly affects the other organs. It has been already reported that the disease tends to appear in asthmatic people and the ones who suffer of other respiratory problems.

Also, health officials are looking for other symptoms and it could be that paralysis might be another one, as some Colorado children showed this particularity.

There has been also a message spread by health experts to help prevent or at least catch in an early stage the Enterovirus.

"If you're worried that your child is having some difficulty moving their arms or legs, or if you're worried that they are having difficulty breathing, those are exactly the type of symptoms that we'd like you to contact your child's doctor or take them to the emergency room."

The Enterovirus in Michigan case is one of several developing.
