It seems Japanese customers are always pampered by global food chains with the string of Japan-only available menu items. Debuting in Japan, Mc Donald's unveiled two monstrosities that would surely induce drooling in meat lovers worldwide, and perhaps a little bit of envy for not being Japanese.
Introducing the McDonald's Japan's Grand Big Mac.
One of the two new large dining options being introduced, the Grand Big Mac consists of two patties that is touted to contain more than 30 percent meat than the relatively smaller ordinary Big Mac according to an article by Casey Baseel on Rocket News24. Of course it comes with the usual lettuce, pickles, cheese and special sauce and is priced at 520 yen or around US$4.60.
And then, there is that even bigger Giga Big Mac.
Luckily, for those who have a healthier appetite that even the Grand Big Mac can't appease, McDonald's Japan has the answer. The Giga Big Mac packs a punch, composed of four patties separated by an extra bun in the middle of the burger according to a Time article by Olivia Waxman. It also contains the usual lettuce, onion, pickles, cheese and the mustard sweet relish sauce found in the American version of the Big Mac.
The four patties combined are touted to contain more than 2.8 times meat compared to the ordinary Big Mac which should be enough to satisfy even the worst of protein cravings. The extremely filling burger is said to be the perfect choice for those looking for "a satisfied sense of accomplishment," according to Rocket News24.
Or perhaps, it is the perfect choice for those looking for a gastronomic challenge. Biting into the potentially jaw-dislocating thickness of the four patties could prove to be a challenge indeed.
Customers need not worry about running out of drinks and side orders while eating the challenging burgers. The two orders are paired with an equally grand-sized soft drinks and fries.
