Eating should give you some kind of pleasure and satisfaction. It is not something that you should deprive yourself of. According to National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders (ANAD), Anorexia is the third most common chronic disease among adolescents.
Records also show that about 50 percent of the population has eating disorders (bulimia, anorexia, and binge eating disorder) in the US. And out of the Anorexia sufferers, 20 percent will lead to premature death caused by potassium and magnesium imbalances, heart complications, kidney and liver disease, and even suicidal death.
Anorexia statistics is somewhat hard to determine. In fact sufferers often try to hide the disorder. Some pretends to wear big clothing, pretends to eat and go into hiding. The fatal eating disorder affects most women with about 10 percent men.

Mary Kate underwent treatment for anorexia after months of speculation about her skinny appearance. She denied being anorexic.
