Amy Schumer is A 'Big Tipper'; Drops $1,000 to 'Hamilton' Bartenders

Looks like Amy Schumer does not only have a lot on her bag of jokes and humor, she has a lot on her wallet too, apparently.

Feeling a little bit generous before watching the Broadway show 'Hamilton', Schumer reportedly gave a $1,000 tip to a bartender who prepped her drink before and during the intermission of the play.

It was just a normal evening for bartender Madeline DeJohn, until one of Schumer's crew approached her and handed her the tab. "Amy wants to make sure you get this," DeJohn recalls how she received the generous tip.

According to Gothamist, she and her coworkers were left speechless, receiving a large amount of money as tip for the first time.

"We've served a lot of celebrities at Hamilton and we've received some nice tips but never before had I seen a tip that even came close to this one," DeJohn added.

Though Schumer is considerably a regular to the said bar, she does not frequently leave a thousand bucks as tip. "She came to the bar a few months ago and put $80 in our tip jar," NY Eater reports.

Not only that DeJohn noted the comedic star's generosity, she also witnessed the kindness and humility of the celebrity. "I went up to her and thanked her and she basically was like, 'Of course, I've been there, I get it, you guys are great.' I've never encountered this kind of generosity before," Dejohn shared.

DeJohn later uploaded a picture of the tab with Schumer's grand tip to her on her Instagram account, saying "And then @amyschumer comes into your work and does something amazing #hamilton #amyschumer"

This is not the first time the comedienne has expressed her generosity through tips. June of last year, one lucky server from Peter's Clam Bar in Long Island has received a $500 tip, after ""engaging, animated conversation with her server."

So if ever Amy happens to be in your restaurant, impress her! Who knows? You might be a couple of hundreds richer when your shift ends!
