The Golden bear has just added seven new ice cream flavors to his brand. Jack Nicklaus partnered with the Schwan Food Company last year to release his own line of ice cream and initially came up with seven ice cream flavors.
In a statement posted on Fortune.com, Nicklaus said, "It is no secret that I love ice cream. Needless to say, I have never had so much fun in the research and development of a product. The team at Schwan has a world-class product development center. Together, we have created a variety of flavors - all with real ingredients - for a quality, premium ice cream at a value price."
The Nicklaus ice cream brand introduced seven flavors, namely pineapple upside down cake, mint and chip, black cherry, mango crisp, cookies and cream, chocolate chip cookie dough, and blueberry cheesecake, which he revealed exclusively with CNBC. The original flavors include homemade vanilla, coffee, and donuts, triple chocolate, strawberry lemonade, salted caramel toffee, peanut butter swirl and warm spiced butter bean.
Arguably the most decorated golfer of all time, Nicklaus started his corporation with the aim of starting an empire that would survive beyond him. Other products that he has launched include golf balls, apparel, and even lemonade.
Another goal of his company is to spark an interest in golf among youngsters. He once admitted, "The golf course design business... it's been pretty dead in the United States." Co-chair of Nicklaus Cos. stated, "Jack's excellence on the golf course and all things he's stood for in his life, including family and charitable activities, are all part of the DNA of this company. That's attractive to a certain part of the public, and they flock to us."
Arguably the most decorated golfer of all time, Nicklaus won a total of 73 and 10 PGA and Champion tours respectively. He has also won the PGA Player of the Year award for a record number of five times.
