For all those with a sweet tooth in and around Miami, the Dessert Wars 2016 can be a blessing. Some of the most pronounced sweet boutiques like the Velvet Crème Doughnuts, Mr. Bing, Jake and the Cake, and Donut Divas will be taking part in this amazing war of foods.
The second annual eat and sweets event is back and will be transforming the BankUnited Center to probably Willy Wonk's chocolate factory this Sunday, by hosting the Dessert Wars 2016.
The War will start this Sunday, February 21 from 1 to 3 p.m. on the BankUnited Center more than 20 local shops will converge to provide the attendees with a sugar rush in the afternoon, where they can nibble through exotic desserts one at a time.
Attendees will be given an abundance of tickets, which can be traded for dessert samplings. Additionally, the eaters will also be given a ballot to rank the vendors from one to three, where the vendor with the highest score wins, according to Miami New Times. Every guest will also be given a go - to - box, which they can fill in to carry back.
Some of the major competitors of the Dessert Wars will be Donut Divas, Cupcake Galleria, Mr. Bing and Nummies Bakeshop among others.
Donut Divas will be bringing in the same treat as last year, i.e., red velvet fried Oreos. The crispy dessert includes the taste of a donut along with cake and a crunch cookie. The Oreo is submerged in the red velvet donut batter, fried and sprinkled with powdered sugar.
Meanwhile, Cupake Galleria will be bringing in "Cake Shake", where a traditional shake is served along with cupcakes, toppings, and cookies placed on top. The shake base is made by mixing a whole cupcake with ice cream, sprinkles, and whipped cream.
