Starbucks and Spotify Collaboration Launches

Starbucks is alive with the sound of music - all thanks to their latest partnership with Spotify. Now, lovers of Starbucks get to see the playlist of the branch their currently in and download it on their Spotify playlist.

The partnership between Starbucks and Spotify was announced last May. It was only on Tuesday that the collaboration was officially launched. Spotify works with the Starbucks app for both Android and iPhone devices.

Over 7,500 Starbucks stores across the United States will be streaming songs from their Spotify playlist. Their "Coffeehouse" playlist has more than 500 tracks. One of the collection of songs on Starbucks' playlist runs for almost 33 hours. This is just one out of 19 playlists said to be featured on Starbucks Spotify.

Not only will users be able to save the songs from Starbucks' Spotify playlist, but they also get to influence the coffee chains' playlist through picking favorites. As for the baristas, they have no control over the Starbucks Spotify playlist. The only thing they may control is the volume, as well as the selection of playlists. Skipping songs or adding songs to the playlist is out of the picture as well.

This collaboration with Spotify is a twist in the coffee chain's history of tapping into the music scene. Early in the 90s, Starbucks had sold CDs in store. Due to a plummet in sales, the CD sales had ended last March.

For Starbucks collaborating with Spofity, this partnership not only greatly benefits the coffee chain but the app as well. A number of new users would definitely download the app to figure out what the hype is all about.

As for Starbucks lovers, would you be tapping into their "Coffeehouse" playlist? Drop by your favorite Starbucks branch today and see if their music is as good as their coffee.
