Tina Fey, one of Hollywood's famous comediennes, admits being Regina George when she was in high school, Time reports.
The actress says that she was the Queen Bee of the Plastics in her pre-Hollywood days. She said to Net-a-Porter's The Edit that she was the mean girl and she admits it.
After the years passed, Fey reflects on why she became a bully. She gives this insight as to how bullying works especially in high school. "That was a disease that had to be conquered. It's another coping mechanism - it's a bad coping mechanism - but when you feel less than (in high school, everyone feels less than everyone else for different reasons), in your mind it's a way of leveling the playing field. Though of course it's not." Fey's idea depicts the truth in its purest form.
She declared as well that comedy was something that she thought was her coping mechanism. "For me it was about hitting age 13 and realizing, 'OK, I'm not going to glide by on looks. I'm a normal-looking person, but that's not going to be where my bread is buttered." It's a good thing that the actress found another medium as her coping mechanism.
The SNL star also said that she learned her lesson being a mean girl - it's not good to say something terrible about someone because it does not level the playing field. Bullying is not okay - it is not something that should be tolerated.
As a mother of two girls, she jokes that if she meets a girl channeling Regina George, she is secretly afraid.
The seven time Emmy winner has a new film. "Sisters" relives high school memories. It is about two siblings who throw a party at their childhood home, and it gets a bit wild. She teams up with BFF Amy Poehler for this one.
