Cate Blanchett Confirmed For 'Thor: Ragnarok!' Which Marvel Character Will The 'Lord Of The Rings' Star Play? [SPOILERS]

Cate Blanchett has played the Queen of England, Katherine Hepburn and the Lady of Light Galadriel. But is she ready to portray a possible Asgardian Goddess?

According to Variety, the Academy Award winner is in final negotiations to appear in the highly anticipated Marvel flick 'Thor: Ragnarok.' If a deal is made, Cate Blanchett will join Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and Tom Hiddleston in the third installment of the God of Thunder's film series.

There have been previous rumors of the studio's interest in getting an A-list actress to star in 'Thor: Ragnarok.' However it has not yet been confirmed which character is being cast.

So who could Cate Blanchett portray in 'Thor: Ragnarok?' Could she play a heroine or a villain?

It may seem highly unlikely that the 'Carol' star will be Valkyrie, the Marvel character known as the female Thor who has repeatedly been rumored to be making an appearance in 'Ragnarok.'

Does this mean that Cate Blanchett will be playing a female baddie in 'Thor: Ragnarok?'

Although there hasn't been any definite announcement from Marvel about who the 'Lord of the Rings' actress will portray in 'Thor: Ragnarok,' fans believe she would make an excellent Hela, Queen of the Dead.

In the comic books, Hela is the daughter of Loki and is a powerful being that wields a deadly touch or the Hand of Glory. The character has appeared alongside her father in the animated film 'Hulk vs Thor,' which was actually written by the current 'Thor: Ragnarok' writers Chris Yost and Craig Kyle.

It's certainly beginning to look like the third Thor film will be following some of the storyline from 'Hulk vs Thor.'

Will Cate Blanchett play Hela, Queen of the Dead? The truth will be revealed when 'Thor: Ragnarok' hits theaters on November 3, 2017.
