Kanye West On Son Saint West's Name: 'That's Just Who He Is'

While Kim Kardashian did all the pregnancy and pushing, Kanye West was left with the full responsibility of finding an appropriate name for their first born son.

People Magazine reports a source close to the 38-year-old rapper and 35-year-old reality star revealed how the now father-of-two struggled with finding a name before coming up with the glorious name, Saint West.

"Ye was going back and forth for a while," the friend of the couple told the magazine. "It needed to mean something and he agonized over it, probably even more than Kim."

After coming up with North's name in 2013 and deciding they wouldn't go for any other direction, the Stronger rapper really felt the pressure on their name game.

"Kanye believes that a name is extremely important and that it's the first sense of identity that we have," Kimye's pal explained. "He believes that people live up to their names, which is why he wanted a name with spiritual significance."

And being Kanye West means not settling for a typical guy's name like John, Peter or Paul. "He doesn't like naming the kids anything common," the pal continued. "He thinks his children are unique so their names must be unique."

While everybody placed their bets on other names like Easton (as Kim previously mentioned) way before their son's birth, the then-expecting father just took his own time until he came up with something genius.

"He told me, 'Everyone freaks out, but you can get used to any name,'" says the friend. "Before you know it, Saint West will seem normal, because that's just who he is."

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star gave birth to Saint West on Saturday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Despite her serious pregnancy complications, momager Kris Jenner said "everyone's safe and sound and all tucked in."

So how is Saint West doing?

"My little nephew was born he is so cute and so perfect," said aunt Khloe. "I love him and mommy and daddy are doing fantastic."
