Wanna Be On Top? America's Next Top Model Extended The Meaning Of Beauty, According to Tyra Banks

"Wanna be on Top?" This question has been the slogan for a top rated model competition on TV. America's Next Top Model started hitting the airwaves 12 years ago and it already aired 22 seasons and helped realize a lot of modeling dreams not only in the United States but in all other places like Asia and Australia as well. However, the top rated show produced and hosted by world-class model and business woman, Tyra Banks will close the curtains down and stop running. According to an article in Stuff, the host has decided to end the show after 22 seasons and added that she is most proud that this show was able to expand the real definition of beauty.

In some parts of the world, the final episode of the final season wasn't aired yet. So, while writing this article, we want to consider the ones who haven't seen the final show and will not spoil the excitement. During her interview with Entertainment Weekly, she said that the season 10 winner, Whitney Thompson was her favorite contestant. Banks said, "She was our first plus-size - or what I call "fiercely real" - winner, so that was really special to me because we were, in hindsight, way ahead of the curve." She added that "What I'm really proud of is the show extending the definition of beauty physically and even emotionally".

She also mentioned some of the contestants who had some differences like Amanda Swafford, who was legally blind, Tahlia Brookins, who had burn scars on her torso and CariDee English, Cycle seven winner who had psoriasis. The model/ host said that she is really proud that she was able to show the girls that beauty isn't a cookie cutter. Whenever she is talking to any contestant standing in front of her and she has a frizzy red hair or freckles all over her face and she is saying that she is still in the running towards becoming the next top model, she isn't just talking to her but to millions of girls that look like her and watching the show at home.

Besides teaching girls how to smize, tooch and keep everything in fashion, Tyra Banks had a noble goal in mind.
