Martin E. Brooks, who starred in the ABC series "The Six Million Dollar Man" in the 70s, died on Monday, December 7, the actor was 90.
Jon Landau, a film producer and friend of Brooks, said he died of natural causes after a brief hospitalization in Los Angeles.
Brooks and Landau's mother, Edie Landau, were childhood friends who became close companions two decades ago after she was widowed.
Brooks began as Wells for "The Six Million Dollar Man" in 1975, - is an American television series about a former astronaut with bionic implants working for a fictional government office known as OSI.
And "Bionic Woman"- is an American television series starring Lindsay Wagner that aired for three seasons between 1976 and 1978 as a spin-off from The Six Million Dollar Man.
Martin Brooks has also enjoyed a TV career that extend more than four decades, appearing in other such shows as Gunsmoke, Planet of the Apes, Dallas, Cagney & Lacey, and Hunter.
Brooks' other credits included "The Philco Television Playhouse" in the 1950s, "Combat!" in the 1960s and "Knots Landing" in the 1990s.
He also played Dr. Arthur Bradshaw on the ABC daytime serial "General Hospital."
Landau said Brooks was proud of his stage work that included "An Enemy of the People" and "I Am a Camera," as well as the actors he worked with, Julie Harris and Barbara Bel Geddes among them.
He received a Theatre World Award and a Donaldson Award for his role in Burning Bright.
According to Variety, Brooks also authored two novels, "Danny Brown" and "Roman Candle" and also had his play, "Flo and Joe," optioned as a Broadway production.
Jon Landau, who produced Avatar and Titanic, told the Hollywood Reporter Brooks spent his past 20 years as the "soul mate" of Edie, Landau's mother, who he is survived by.
