2022 FIFA World Cup USA: Qatar’s Chances Of Keeping The World Cup Seem Slim, Says FIFA Official

The 2022 FIFA World Cup's USA expectations might not be far from truth: as months go by and after a series of corruption scandals involving a Qatari former member of the FIFA board, the 2022 FIFA World Cup's USA dreams could become reality if the association chooses to take the hosting away from the Middle East nation.

It's been said that for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, USA could be the best alternate host, if concerns with Qatar persist. These are based mostly on the country's inclement weather, as it's a desert country; however, Qatar's record of human rights violations (like the fact that homosexuality is actually illegal in the Muslim country) has also come to light and, finally, it has also been noted that the country only has one big city, and although currently there are entire towns being built for the 2022 FIFA World Cup; USA's chances for hosting seem better as they already would have the infrastructure. The United States' possible hosting seems to improve more and more as time goes by.

Now, even a FIFA official has said that taking Qatar out of the equation seemed like the most likely scenario for the biggest international sports event in the world. FIFA Executive Committee member Theo Zwanziger said publicly that he didn't think the 2022 World Cup would unfold the way it's supposed to, stating: "I personally think that in the end the 2022 World Cup will not take place in Qatar. Medics say that they cannot accept responsibility with a World Cup taking place under these conditions.... Fans from around the world will be coming and traveling in this heat and the first life-threatening case will trigger an investigation by a state prosecutor."

There have been many issues regarding Qatar being picked as the World Cup host since it was first announced in 2010: there has even been a corruption scandal in regards of the choice. In the meantime, 2022 FIFA World Cup's USA chances seem to be getting better and better.
