Samsung Galaxy Note 6 Release Date, Specs & Rumors: Will It Become The First Smartphone Laptop Hybrid?

The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is, like other Samsung devices, expected for release next year, therefore it's no surprise that rumors have started circulating about the highly-anticipated creation from the South Korean giant.

According to the latest Samsung Galaxy Note 6 rumors, the device may become a phone and laptop hybrid.

The Galaxy Note line has been known to address work which needs much "productivity and multi-tasking," and it appears the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 could be the first device to blur the line between laptops and smartphones.

According to Patently Mobile, Samsung has already acquired dual-OS notebook patents with a "phablet dock." In addition, a diagram of the patent reportedly shows the possibility that the phone will be able to fit into a laptop-like device's dock.

If the latest rumored Galaxy Note 6 specs are true and Samsung does have a "phablet dock," then the aforementioned device can be a smartphone and laptop hybrid.

Ubergizmo reported that if the technology is featured in the Galaxy Note 6, the phone will work as a touchpad as well as a laptop's memory and processor when docked into one. The rumors are certainly plausible as most high-end smartphones now are incorporated with powerful RAMs, processors and memories.

As the laptop acts as a shell, the smartphone will reportedly become the "heart and brain of the laptop," noted Value Walk.

According to Tech Times, the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 specs include a 16-core processor and an 8GB of RAM. Meanwhile, rumored specs include 4K display, 30-megapixel camera, a 16MP selfie camera, 4,200mAh battery and fast-charging technology that would charge 40% in only four minutes. The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is also rumored to be equipped with a biometric scanner for Samsung Pay.

To achieve the dual OS feature, the Galaxy Note 6 has to be exceedingly powerful, and if the rumors are true about the device, it could be the most powerful smartphone laptop hybrid to be created.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 release date is expected on the second half of 2016.
