A new ad for College Football on SportsCenter may have finally revealed where the Resistance has been hiding in 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens!'
The SportsCenter ad, which is sponsored by the film, illustrates the rivalry in The Iron Bowl 2015 as well as the Bedlam series. The ad starts off with a series of game footage with the 'Star Wars' theme as the background music and also connects the rivalry between the Auburn University Tigers and the University of Alabama Crimson Tide with the 'Star Wars' storyline.
"Every generation has a story," the voiceover claims, "to fulfill a destiny, to finish what you started. As bitter rivalries awaken, may the force be with you."
It's a moving ad for fans of college football that wish to connect their favorite game with the exciting new film from the 'Star Wars' franchise, and it also features new footage from 'The Force Awakens.' Although most of the shots from 'Episode VII' have already appeared in the previous trailers and TV spots, there is a fleeting glimpse at a planet surrounded by X-Wing Fighters right before the ad ends.
What is this planet and why are all the X-Wings heading toward it?
There are speculations that it could be D'Qar, the planet where the Resistance keeps its base. The existence of the planet was previously revealed in Empire magazine although there was no actual illustration of what D'Qar looks like. (A map does confirm that it is close to Naboo and Sullust.)
The inclusion of the new footage has definitely kickstarted an interest in the mysterious planet, however there is very limited information about D'Qar other than its location in the Outer Rim territories and its lush forests and vast bodies of water.
See more of D'Qar and how it houses the Resistance when 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' hits theaters on December 18.
