Fun times at Las Vegas' iHeartRadio Music Festival last week, as Usher lights his shoes on fire in the middle of a dance off with Chris Brown, right after performing Brown's "New Flame" as a duet.
After Usher lighted his shoes on fire in the Las Vegas venue, he gathered many comparisons to guitar legend Jimi Hendrix, who famously lit up his guitar in flames in 1967, at yet another music festival: the Monterey Pop Festival in California. At the time, Jimi Hendrix's antic got him the nicknames of "Black Elvis" and the "Wild Man of Borneo."
While Usher light his shoes on fire, Chris Brown looked at him amusedly - it's important to note that nobody was actually wearing the Air Jordans when Usher light his shoes on fire! It happened after they'd been having their dance-off for a couple of minutes, in front of a thrilled Las Vegas audience.
It could be said that the singers danced off their shoes ... right before Usher light his shoes on fire!
iHeartRadio Music Festival is one of the hottest festivals of the year, even if it doesn't come from a long tradition - this is only the fourth installment, as it was launched in 2011. The two-day festival is held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, and has been broadcasted by two different networks: the first edition, by VH1; and the rest of them, by The CW. It's always been hosted by Ryan Seacrest.
This year's edition featured many artists of different genres (mostly around the pop spectrum), varying from Paramore and Ed Sheeran to Lorde, 50 Cent, Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea and even Coldplay - the band that had the particular to count Jennifer Lawrence among its audience, as she is reportedly dating the band's leading singer, Gwyneth Paltrow's estranged husband Chris Martin.
