[WATCH] Loki Wield Mjolnir In 'Thor: The Dark World' Deleted Scene [VIDEO]

Loki's deepest desires become real in a scene that was deleted from 'Thor: The Dark World!'

It's no secret that Tom Hiddleston's enigmatic yet power-hungry character in the 'Thor' films is eager to take the throne from the All Father and will not stop until he takes control of Asgard. In a deleted scene from the second 'Thor' movie, it looks like Loki may have finally become the ruler of Asgard and even wields Mjolnir to prove his power.

The clip opens with a shot of the Bifrost Bridge leading to Asgard, where everyone is celebrating the coronation of a new king. Volstagg (Ray Stevenson), Sif (Jaimie Alexander) and Fandral (Zachary Levi) are shown respectfully bowing to the new king as he walks up to the throne, turning around dramatically to reveal it is actually Loki. The new King of Asgard reaches up to catch Mjolnir and raises the hammer up triumphantly.

The sequence is broken when Frigga (Rene Russo) asks Loki what he is doing. Thor's adoptive brother turns around to say, "I'm giving the people what they want," to which Frigga asks, "Does all this make you feel better?" Loki responds, "It certainly doesn't make me feel worse," and Frigga warns him that if he keeps casting illusions he may forget what is real. And it turns out that it is exactly what he wants.

The clip ends with the revelation that Loki is still imprisoned, although he has been visited by Frigga.

The deleted scene seems to hint on the possibility of Loki wielding Mjolnir in the future and the comic book storyline where the villain actually usurps the throne from Thor. There are also speculations that Tom Hiddleston's character will play another major role in 'Thor: Ragnarok' as the new ruler of Asgard who must be defeated by the God of Thunder.

Find out if Loki manages to take over Asgard in 'Thor: Ragnarok,' which is scheduled for release on November 3, 2017.
