The McDonalds free coffee offer started on Tuesday the 19th of September and will run all the way to the 29th of September. McDonalds is revisiting the offer in a bid to revive dwindling sales.
McDonalds launched its second free coffee promotion on Tuesday 16th. The promotion will run for two weeks through to September 29. The fast food chain ran a similar promotion in March and April this year. Participating outlets across the nation saw millions of free cups of coffee distributed to customers. This time McDonalds is promising an even better experience.
Participating McDonalds branches across the state will be rewarding clients with small cups of McCafe coffee during breakfast hours. The Oak Brook Illinois fast food chain is under fierce competition for a slice the breakfast market. With service chains and coffee shops sprouting in every major city n the country, the big chains are finding their revenues being clawed at rapidly.
The coffee and breakfast segment is one of the fastest growing food service markets currently. So vast is it that Taco Bell announced it would be rolling out its own breakfast options soon. Burger King, a major competitor of McDonalds, only last month acquired Tim Hortons, a coffee and doughnut chain. Other competitors offering stiff competition include Dunkin Donuts.
McDonalds same store sales for the second quarter of year fell by 1.5%. In fact, the net income of the company was roughly flat, as compared to the same period last year. The dwindling sales have prompted the fast food maker to revisit the offer to boost sales.
McDonalds first launched its McCafe line in the U.S in 2009. This season, customers have a wider variety of options to choose from. The varieties on offer include White Chocolate Mocha, Chocolate Latte and Hot Chocolate.
MCdonalds recently announced that it would collaborate with Kraft Foods to offer a variety of McCafe ground coffee in grocery stores and other retailers nationwide.
