Rihanna's Twitter rant against CBS caused the network to pull out the song she did for the CBS broadcast of the National Football League season; as they had pulled it back last week due to the present NFL controversies surrounding domestic abuse, once the network put it back, the 'Umbrella' singer expressed anger on the social network.
Rihanna's Twitter flooded with anger as she saw her song had been pulled back in the air after CBS had chosen to put it aside last week, following NFL's wave of domestic abuse controversy.
Rihanna's Twitter gave a mild account of the events. However, it was not specified that the singer's participation in the broadcast, keeping in mind that Rihanna is a victim of domestic abuse herself (in 2009, she was beaten by then-boyfriend Chris Brown after a pre-Grammy Awards party; photos of the beaten singer were leaked at the time with great controversy), was reportedly deemed too delicate after accusations of domestic violence have surfaced in the midst of different violence to spouse reports from NFL players, most notably Ray Rice.
Last week, the 'Don't Stop The Music' singer was supposed to open the Baltimore Ravens game last week, but CBS cancelled her performance as the executives deemed the move too risqué, given Rihanna's track as a domestic abuse victim and that it was a game with Ray Rice's team. This, however, didn't go well with Rihanna's Twitter account, where she was quick to insult the network for their choices, calling them audacious for it.
Rihanna's Twitter feed has been extremely vocal in the past about various subjects over the years, even when she got back together with aggressor Chris Brown, for which she got a strong wave of rejection and criticism in 2012, as she was seen as a bad example - even friend Beyoncé threatened Rihanna from seeing her then-newborn child Blue Ivy if she continued her self-destructive relationship with Brown.
